Is it ok to plant eggplant next to trees?

Since the roots of trees can take up nearly all the nutrients and water, I would suggest implementing a raised bed. You also need to factor in the amount of sunlight the plant will receive, as trees do cast shade too. If you can ensure that the plant gets adequate amounts of sunlight, water and nutrients, there should not be any issues.
