Is Early June Too Late to Start a Vegetable Garden?

I live in north Ga, 30 miles north of Atlanta. Due to my families travel schedule, we can’t do the planting until the first week of June. Is that too late in this area? If not, what vegetables do you recommend for late planting in this area?
