identifying a houseplant

Question

Two summers ago my husband brought me a red flowering plant for our screened in porch I don’t know the name of it but it was great. It had very small 1/2 inch red flowers with round shaped leaves. It was low maintenance. I would water it when the leaves started to look wilted and it would come back out in a matter of hours. It bloomed all summer and into the fall. It frosted one night when I didn’t realize it was going to, especially under the porch, and killed part of it. I could not save the rest. I would love to have another. When I have been looking for it, it looks like a Christ Plant but it didn’t have thorns. Do you have any ideas what it could be?

There are many plants that could match your description, both annuals and perennials.

Azaleas, Geraniums, Begonias, Hibiscus, Impatience to name a few.
Perhaps a visit to your local garden center or greenhouse would help you locate the plant or you may even find another plant that would be a nice addition to your screened in porch!

@Downtoearthdigs – I have gone around to the big store garden centers and the Mom and Pop ones and can’t find the plant I am looking for. The types you listed are very common so they don’t fit my description. I was hoping to get some answers of the less common type. The red flower is about 1/2 inch in size and does not bloom in a bunch. Hoping some others can give me other suggestions to look into. Thanks
