Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comWe have an older vine that went downhill and now is coming back with lots of new growth. We noticed on the new growth a strange type of fungus which is attracting ants. I provide a picture of the growth which we have been cutting off fearing it is harmful to the plant.

It likely is a type of mushroom, which would be harmless to the plant. However, I think I would cut off that part of the stem just to be on the safe side.
