Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI would like to plant some ice plant flowers but only by seeding. When can we put down the seeds and how long before they germinate planting in late April. Our zone is in Middle Tennessee near Nashville. I could also plant the flowers from the Nursery but wonder how much area they cover. The information states that grow 3 to 6 inches high and spread only to 2 to 4 feet…Correct?? My circular growing area is approximately 12-15 feet across and is a circle….so, seeds or plants. Is the ice plant different from the flowers? Thank you.

It can take 5 to 6 days for seeds to germinate. They need light to germinate so do not cover with soil. This could be a problem if you start them outside. Birds may get your seeds.
