If you have access to an African tulip tree, capture ripening seeds from its seed pods. Place a paper bag over the seed pod, and loosely secure it in place with a string or wire twist. Each 8- to 10-inch seed pod holds up to 500 tiny seeds, which release when the seed pod ripens. Leave the tiny seeds in the paper bag to dry, folding over the top of the bag to protect it from debris. Place in a dry and airy location, out of direct sunlight, for 30 days. Transfer seeds to an opaque container with a tight lid. Label and date for long-term storage. Properly dried and stored in sealed container, the seeds remain viable for years.
