I need some color in my garden and I love the color of Society garlic. I’m starting with only 6 plants. Do they spread rapidly?

Before I plant them should I step off the foliage leaving three or 4 inches so the roots will spread? Thank you for your help.

They do multiply, but it is very slow. It may take a several years before they fill in the area that they are planted.
