Pickleweed, also known as Salicornia, isn't typically found in Tennessee's natural habitat, as it's more commonly found in coastal regions with saline or brackish water. However, if you're determined to grow it in Tennessee, you'll need a controlled environment. Plant it in a sandy, well-draining soil mix, and keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Provide ample sunlight, around 6-8 hours a day, and maintain a temperature range of 65-75°F. Fertilize sparingly with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer. Remember that it's a halophyte, so it can tolerate some salt, but be cautious not to overdo it in a non-coastal setting. Keep an eye on its growth and adapt care as needed since it's not a typical Tennessee plant.
