I live in zone 10. I would love to have an oakleaf hydrangea in my garden but from what I’ve read, it doesn’t appear that zone

10 is suitable. However, I saw a local nursery advertising oakleaf hydrangeas so now I wonder if it would survive in my area. Since they were very expensive, I don’t want to buy one if it would not do well. Thank you!

Yes, you can grow them in Zone 10. The zone recommendations reflect optimal conditions, but with the proper care you should have success with these. You should have a talk with the garden nursery folks who are selling these in your area. You may need to give your plant a bit of shade and protect it from intense heat.
