Yellow Leaves on Fig Tree and a White Fungus

I have a fig tree, 10 ft round, with just one part of the tree leaves turning yellow and falling off. Also, the same limb that the leaves are yellow has a white fungus nearest to the soil. Any ideas?

This sounds like a fungus is on the leaves and may have spread to the soil. Treat both the whole tree (to prevent spreading) and the soil with a fungicide.
