I have some roses in containers. Do I cut them right back?

Yes your rosebushes in containers need pruning back or deadheading to keep them blooming well. Once the cold temps and frosts have touched them and they start to go dormant, they can be pruned back a bit for the winter. Or if you are moving them indoors or to a cold protected spot for the winter, they can be pruned just enough to make them more managable for this placement. Then prune them a bit again in the spring when you start setting them back out in their normal places again. Here are some links to articles that may be of interest to you:
