Coleus is grown as an annual in northern US. It will not survive winter outdoors. Consider trimming it (and taking cuttings to start new plants) and keeping it as a houseplant over winter. It is also easy to grow from seed but start 12 weeks before your frost-free date in spring. If you like coleus, enjoy browsing online seed catalogues. It comes in a large array of colors and leaf variations.
