How to Water Gardenia Bush

I just bought my first home and with it came with lots of young flowers and shrubs. . . like 6 gardenia bushes. I have no idea how to take care of them. I found some info on them but not on watering them.

If they’re in a container, they should be watered daily, twice a day if the temps are over 85 degrees F. If they are in the ground, they should get about 3 inches of water a week.

My crepe myrtl tree has some type of moss growing on it…what is it frist of all and is it good for the tree or bad…and if its bad for it how do i get rid of it??? also when does it start to have leaves and bloom??? sorry i have no idea what to do when it comes to gradening!!!
