How To Stop Turf From Getting Bare Patches And Turning Into Moss?

I have this area of lawn which is lightly shaded which turns bare and slowly moss takes over. I have reseeded every year for the last five years and returfed twice. The area is roughly 1x.5m and is slightly covered with a bush which looses it leaves during winter months. Is this a drainage issue? I would welcome any advice.

Since you are getting moss, it could be excess moisture in the area. Also, shady sites are very difficult for growing grass. One option is to embrace the moss and encourage its growth in that spot. Other options are lawn alternatives for shade. To get rid of the moss, see the article below. You must correct the reasons why grass won't grow but moss will.
