How to propagate a Bird of Paradise?

We have 2 very large white Bird of Paradise plants and they have lots of flowers. After they flower, is a large pod left. Is there a way to start new plants from these pods? Thanks! We are new to southern plants and not sure what to do with some of these.

Yes, this can be done from seed. It can also be done through plant division, if you do not want to wait years before it flowers. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/bop/propagating-birds-of-paradise.htm [1]
