There are two ways to go about this. The first way is much safer, but will take months to see any results. This way is to put the seeds in the fridge for about a month, and then plant them as they are. This will take months to see a sprout, but once the hard stone shell dissolves it will germinate.

The second way can be quite dangerous, but you can see a sprout in as little as two months. You will need to wear gloves for this, since cherry pits contain prussic acid. This is converted to cyanide in the body, very rapidly.

After placing the seeds in the refrigerator for a month you will want to remove the outer shell. You must be very careful not to nick the almond like seed inside, and especially do not get it on your skin. Break the shell open with a hammer revealing the seed. Place this seed in moist soil, and under light. Wait for growth.
