Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI’ve heard that you shouldn’t harvest it after a year, because it might not be able to survive the harvest. But I’m growing multiple Liquorice plants, so maybe I could harvest some after a year and leave the rest to continue growing.

When you harvest the roots, you can replant some or part of the rhizomes to get more plants going.
The extract is toxic in large doses, and the toxic property is removed before using in products commercially. So, I am concerned as to how you are going to use the root. Here is more on its care and toxicity.
