You may want to remove as much as possible by hand.
You can treat the moss with a moss killer, but you will want to be careful not to contaminate the lake water.
Is there tree growth that is shading the area?
Clearing the trees to allow more sunlight to the area would help in keeping the moss from growing and spreading.
