how do I grow potted veggies & herbs?

I have upstairs outdoor veranda which I plant herbs and vegetables outdoor veranda which I plant herbs and vegetables I’m having issues can you help me?

I'm guessing the plants do not get enough sun. Most vegetables require full sun which is 6 to 8 hours. Here are more general gardening tips that may help.
