how do I get my gardenia to bloom?

we must have pruned at the wrong time last year because my gardenia always blooms except for this year. SO if we DID prune at the wrong time, how do we get back to the blooms…when would we prune this year if there are no blooms?

Yes, it is very likely that they were pruned out of season. This can cause the lack of blooms. The only thing to do will be to let them recover, and only prune during the correct time.
