How Can I Eradicate Bermuda Grass That Came Up Thru Drainage Holes Of Containers I Plan To Use For Vegetable Gardening? I Havent P

lanted any vegetables in these yet. This is good rich soil I would really like to use. The bermuda grass roots/runners are relatively thick in the bottom of the containers. The containers are of very heavy plastic & measure 18″ deep x 22″ across. The photo is a small sample of how big the runners are.

You can dump out the soil and pull out all the berumdagrass. If you don't it will come up through your soil. Bermuda is very tenacious and will find its way up. Also, if you leave any pieces of it in the soil, it will regrow. Once you have it all cleaned out, you can replace the soil. If you see it starting to come up after your veggies are planted, pull it out immediately so it doesn't spread.
