Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comThis year my neighbors and I have holes on the edges of a variety of leaves. They are mostly a kind of 3 sided oval shape. It looks as if something took big “chomps” out of the entire edge of each leaf. I even found them on one houseplant but the bug was gone. The holes are about a quarter to half inch into the leaf. These holes are on a large variety of plants.

It could be cutter bees. I see these cut outs on some of my rosebushes leaves. I consider it an honor of nature that the little bees chose a bush or two of mine for their nesting material. They do stop once they have their nests built, so just leave them alone and enjoy knowing that your plants are helping keep these important little bees going.

Slugs are the normal culprit for this. They can literally devour plants overnight, which is when they feed and likely the reason for not seeing them. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/facts-about-slugs-and-how-to-kill-garden-slugs.htm [1]
