Hi, I’ve raised many prickly pears from seed and they are now 6 to 8 inches tall but they aren’t stable without a stick.

Should I plant them deep into the cactus medium or will this risk rot. Also I live in the middle of England where we do occasionally get quite hard frosts. what’s the minimum freeze temperature they will endure please.
Many Thanks, Geoff Collins

Prickly pears are hardy to 20 degrees F (-6.7 C), according to the USDA hardiness zones.

I wouldn’t plant them deeper into the soil. Are they possibly getting too much water? They should stablize on their own.
