Gardening Know How Questions & Answers -

Grubs ruined my summer garden. I killed them manually as much as I could but to no avail. I have pulled all plants in my garden beds and turned the water off for winter. What can I put in the garden soil to kill the grubs so I don’t have the same problem next year?

The best solution depends on the species of grub (beetle larvae) that you are seeing. Did you notice what types of adult beetles appeared in your garden, or what plants the grubs were feeding on? Japanese beetle larvae are a common problem in parts of the US:

You could try solarization, but this will only kill grubs that are already in the soil, not those that come from eggs that are laid later.
