Your growing zone is basically 9 and there are many suitable plants for your growing conditions. Some good choices to start with might include stonecrop, rock cress, and hardy ice plant. Remember, even if a plant is labeled as deer-repellent, that is not the same as deer-proof. When hungry enough, deer will est anything.
