Growing Pear Seeds

Hi there! I read your wonderful article on growing pear trees from seed. I do have one question–you note to put the seeds in the refrigerator for four months to mimic winter, and to keep the seeds “just moist.” Does this mean that the peat moss should be moistened initially, and then again periodically? How is this best done? With a mister?

I am hoping to grow a few trees from my 150+ pear!

Thank you!
Amy

You will only have to moisten the soil once. If it is in a ziplock bag, then the moisture will not be able to escape. This will be a one time thing until they are ready to plant.

Also, keep in mind, that there is a chance that they will not be the same as the parent tree.
