Growing Figs Plants From Cuttings

I have a selection of cuttings from a fig tree. How do I begin with planting them in small pots. What depth? what type starter planting soil; how much watering; when to transplant into larger pots; use any fertilizer? it is now November in Maryland, place pots outside or inside; if outside cover with a greenhouse type cover?

You will want to keep them inside in an area protected from frost till spring. Only water occasionally or root rot could set in.
