Growing Date Palm from Seed Indoors

I am trying to grow Medjool Date Palm from seed indoors. I have germinated and planted. The shoot has come up both I am only getting one long skinny palm leaf that is starting to bend on it’s own weight. I am not sure what I need to do to get the palm growing straight and healthy. Thank you.

I buy dates in 2 pound containers at Trader Joe’s and eat the date and just stick the pit into pots of other plants that I’m growing and after a few weeks the plants just start to grow and I just let them. I hope that you have as much luck as I do. I also do this with lemon seeds and avocado pits that have started to grow in my compost.
