gladiolus corms

It is almost winter and the corms are sprouting. Should I dig up the corms at this time to store for winter? There are so many corms that there are very few flowers.

Yes, as long as the ground is still workable where you are, I would go ahead and dig them up to store over winter. This article will help with storing them: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/bulbs/bgen/how-to-store-bulbs-that-have-sprouted.htm ^[1]

It should also help with the overcrowding. Simply divide them up and replant elsewhere next season. This should help with blooming. You may want to add a bit of phosphorus to the soil as well.
