Ginger

I would like to grow ginger. The piece I have has no roots. How can I get this piece to produce roots so that I can plant it indoors?

It is a root so you can just plant it. If you bought it in the grocery store make sure it was the organic kind. The others are treated to reduce sprouting. Here is how:
