Gene Sharing

When water hyacinth is used as fertilizer, will the gene structure of the water hyacinth attach itself to the plant receiving the fertilizer? In other words, if an orange is fertilized with water hyacinth, will the orange now tase different, and will it have less or more texture, or nutritional content?

No. Any genetic material will be broken down into raw nutrients. The quality of the nutrients will effect these things, however. Any organic nutrient source will be more readily available to the plant than a synthetic source.
