Gardenia, Vetchii vs. August Beauty

I have 8 beautiful gardenia plants ready to be planted, but the pots from the nursery are not labeled, so I only know that half are Vetchii (shorter) and half are August Beauty. The planting location/mature height matters, and they’re all 8 the same size right now. Is there any way I can tell them apart? Some of them are blooming, with 3″ blooms (one seems cream rather than snow white), and all of them have buds. How quickly do they reach their mature size? (They’re about 14×14″ right now). Will I do them any harm by planting them in their 5-gallon pots until I can tell which are which? (So they’re easier to transplant if they’re in the wrong place)?

Vetchii has smaller blooms then the August Beauty.

Vetchii blossoms are approx 3 inches wide and August Beauty flowers can reach up 5 inches in diameter.
The colors generally open white and mature to a creamy color on both cultivators.
