Garden Soil

For the past several years my vegetable garden plants and seeds will only grow very little and only a few blossoms will set, producing very few, small edible vegetables. This past year I had no peppers, cucumbers, or zucchini that was large enough to eat. I did get a few small, edible tomatoes. I have had the soil tested and was advised that I have very fine soil and not to use any peat moss or lime. I do fertilize and water frequently but have seen no improvement. Do you have any advice?

If you are getting flowers but nothing produces, then it is most likely due to poor pollination. Hand pollination often helps with this. These articles will help you with attracting more pollinators: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/beneficial/insect-pollination-process.htm [1], https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/beneficial/creating-a-pollinator-garden.htm [2] If you are not seeing flowers, then you likely have too much nitrogen in the soil and should offset this by adding more phosphorus. This can be achieved by using a phosphorus-rich fertilizer or by adding bone meal to the soil.
