Garden Plants

Why are the leaves on my vegetables turning yellow and falling off from the ground up? I have been watering every day/every other day. I am growing in a square foot garden that is up on cinder blocks, with a soil depth of between 12 inches to 16 inches. My cowpeas seem unaffected, but my peppers and tomatoes are losing leaves like mad.

You may not be watering deep enough. Rather than watering everyday, try watering 1-2 times a week for long periods of time, say at least 20 minutes. This will make sure the water gets down deeper and willnot evaporate quickly. This article will have some other suggestions:
