fruit trees

I have some apricot trees that are putting on new branches below the original branches that I want to keep. Can I trim the new shoots off now or do I have to wait? I also have several of the leaves that are drying out on the trees. Is there something I can do to correct whatever is wrong?

Yes, you can cut off the unwanted shoots. As for the drying leaves, it could be due to heat stress (if it’s somewhat hot where you are) or a fungus. Up its watering to relieve any heat or irrigation issues and treat it with a funigicide if the drying leaves seem to be spreading.
