Frostbitten Gardenia

This past winter in south Georgia we had unusually low temperatures for several days continuously. My large, in-ground gardenia, which is a good bloomer, has gotten frostbite on the end ‘wood’. Should I trim this now that the temps are warming and before buds appear or wait until after blooming season?

If the stems are green, I would not prune them. They can regrow their leaves. Only prune the brown stems off.
