Flowering Cherry Tree

My 2-3 year old flowering cherry tree has turned brown (started with the leaves turning brown) and appears to be dead. Could this be the Ambrosia Beetle as this beetle killed a weeping cherry last year?

The damage from Ambrosia Beetle is quite easy to identify.
