Fig trees

I have 2 fig trees grown from cuttings of a fig tree. They were doing great and had begun to bear fruit when two years of freezing weather in Navarre, FL (yes, in NW Fla!) killed the trees. I cut off all the sucker branches except the largest one and am hoping it will develop into a tree. Both are growing and sprouting leaves but no branches are visible. Should I cut the top so it will develop branches?

You can trim the top of a Fig Tree to force it branch out. Only do this when the tree is dormant.
