Eucalyptus Trees Damaged or Dead

Eucalyptus trees damaged or dead because of severe frost (-16 F. 30- 40 ft high). How do I deal with the chopping? How far down do we have to take them? Thank you.

Cutting or pruning the tree probably will not help and might put the tree in a worse spot as it would be working on its wounds while fighting with the cold. I would wait until the threat of frost/freeze is gone before attempting to cut anything back. When you do prune it back, this article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/eucalyptus/eucalyptus-pruning.htm [1]
