Epsom Salts on Leaves of Gardenia

Epsom Salts got on some of the leaves of my Gardenia bush. Those leaves are now turning brown and dry, and there are no buds on them. The other side of the bush is bright green with buds. Should we cut out the bad portion or leave it intact until the other side blooms?

You can go ahead and cut out any dead branches. It will help to encourage the plant to regrow what its lost.
