epsom salts

We just planted a 10 ft Silver Buttonwood tree and my husband mixed too much Epsom salt in the water. He added 8 tablespoons to a gallon and 1/2 of water. He just put more water on the tree. Do you the think the epsom salt will damage the tree?

Don’t worry this will NOT damage your tree. Perhaps if you used it as a folia feed you may see some scortched leaves but watered directly to the soil will not matter, Just as if you had mixed too much liquid fertiliser and watered. Apparently Husbands are fast becoming the worlds biggest garden pests! 😉 Further Reading https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/soil-fertilizers/epsom-salt-gardening.htm [1]
