Dwarf fruit trees in a container

Hi,

I want to plant a dwarf fruit tree in a 17 gallon galvanized planter, will it be big enough and can I keep it there indefinitely?

The container you choose can be determined by the size tree you start with, but for most dwarf fruit varieties you would need a container 10-15 gallon sized.
It sounds like a 17 gallon size is appropriate. Make sure it has adequate drainage.
