drowning of coconut plant

I am a beginner in field of agriculture. Recently, the rain keeps falling through the area around my orchard and according the weather report, it may keep continuing for one more week. My coconut was planted more than half a year ago. The problem now is the water level pouring out the river and drowning almost all the coconut plant. So far it already drowning for 3 days and I feel helpless that I can’t even do anything. The water rises about 10 cm above the soil. How long can the coconut bear with this before it dies? I decided to do something when the water level goes down. Please, I really need your help and any suggestions for this situation.

I am sorry that you are having such loss in your garden. The environmental issues that are out of our control can be very frustrating.

Flood waters can be difficult for trees and plants to survive. The roots can die from lack of oxygen and if the water doesn’t drain it can also cause root rot and fungus and disease.

I do not know the size and condition of your Coconut Tree, but it could have a chance if it was removed and placed into a container.

I wish you luck.
