Dogwood

We purchased four dogwoods the end of last year. When we planted them, they did well. We live in Maryland and have not seen any leaves on the tree yet. I was wondering if it was ever going to come back, or is it dead? I know this weather has been crazy–cold, hot, cold. Is there hope they will grow?

Unusually cold weather could have damaged the trees and subsequent buds. Generally, if the trees survived, they will slowly recover, though blooming may not occur this season.
