This is one of the stranger mutations that I have seen. To be certain, apply dolomitic lime and wettable sulfur to the area. It will not hurt the tree, and will prevent any fungal infections, and pH swings. I answered the previous question, and it still stands… This is unique, and should be enjoyed as such, should it continues to express these traits permanently.
