Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI first noticed this Bluebonnet plant last July. It bloomed in August. It continued growing through the winter and bloomed at regular time in March/April. It is now blooming again. I also had a few dozen plants in the yard that germinated in July, survived the winter and had big beautiful blooms in March/April.

The flowering out of habit is a bit odd, but can happen under stress. Seed germination is rather low, so you may have had some sprout, but likely the roots have spread underground.
I would continue to enjoy the out of habit blooming, while giving the plants the best care (which means leaving it alone!).
