Spike plants belong to several species: Dracaena indivisa, also known as Cordyline indivisa, and Cordyline australis. I don’t think they can be divided, but they can be propagated by cuttings. Cut a young shoot from the main plant, remove all but 2 or 3 leaves, and root it as described in this article:
