Container Seedlings

I bought a small greenhouse so I could plant my own garden plants. I did plant peppers, tomatoes and several other plants. I kept them watered so the soil was moist. Some of the plants came up but after they did they wilted and died. My cucumbers came up and the leaves turned white and some of them died. At night I put a light in the greenhouse. I did notice that there were tiny flies when I opened the door to the greenhouse. I have bought other plants like tomatoes and peppers from nurseries. These plants seem to be okay. I am just having trouble with getting the seedlings to come up and stay healthy. Can you tell me what the problem could be?

It sounds like a damping off issue, usually from overly moist conditions. The insects are likely fungus gnats, also attracted to the moist conditions.
