choisya sundance(yellowleaves)are all turning green. WHY?

Planted approx 12years ago the the bush has suddenly turning green all over. It is also straggly at about 1.2m tall. can I cut down to 0.5m

Choisya ternata “Sundance” is a hybrid with yellow leaves that needs full sun. As with many shrubs and vines bred to have leaves other than their natural green, they sometimes revert back to the original green. Normally these stems are pruned out annually to keep them from dominating. At this point, cutting back a green-leaved stem will not convert new leaves on that stem to yellow. You can remove all green leaved stems and see what comes in or you can replace the plant. One other possibility is severe nutrient deficiency. If you feed the shrubs or put down compost every year or so, this cause of leaf greening is unlikely.
