Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI recently bought a Chinese chestnut tree from a local nursery. Its in a large container with a bunch of suckers going with it. It looks more like a shrub. The guy at the nursery told me that it’s a suckering tree and to not cut them down and to plant it and forget it. I was wondering if you could tell me if this is true or not. Thank you.

A Chinese Chestnut should be grown as a single trunk. They are a wider growing tree, but you will want a single trunk.
All suckers should be removed as soon as they grown.
